Activities

I’m looking for input on group activities that we can take part in.

Bowling: any bowlers out there that know of where and when we could get a team(s) signed up for the winter. I’m wondering if Doc Holliday’s in Delano might have some leagues.

I substituted on a team last year at Huikko’s, and it was fun; but, the smoke was awful. I think Doc Holliday’s has a great filter system. Of course, isn’t the smoke-free law going in to affect soon?

Fishing, Hunting, and other manly pursuits: this is way out of my league. If anyone has any suggestions in this pursuit, let us know.

Special Events, concerts, ballgames, Viking bashing afternoons, etc: keep your eyes and ears open for these types of events. Let us know if you see anything coming up that we could get a group together.

Ministry Goals

Personal: we want to support you in your personal growth on your journey of becoming a disciple, and a soldier, of our Lord Jesus. If you have any ideas on how to share information and resources, let us know.

You’ve all heard of mentoring I’m sure. If you feel comfortable asking to either be a mentor, or if you want to be mentored, let me know. Another idea is that we set up foursomes (yes, just like golf) These would be accountability groups, and you would touch base weekly with all the guys and see if there are any issues or battles going on that we can support each other through. Set it up with your friends; or, if you don’t know many guys yet, let me know, we’ll get a group going.

Church Support: Would anyone volunteer to take ownership of coming up with ways that the men’s ministry could help families in our body. This is the old barn-raising mentality---many hands make light work. Let me know if you’re interested.

Also, Tim Erickson is swamped, and needs help with the Events Planning. I think we could take a big role in doing this as well. He’s set up Christmas caroling, Valentine’s Day events, church picnics, etc. We could help in this as well.

Community Outreach: it’s Pastor Keith’s vision to see us become a force for the Kingdom of God in our community. Again, if anyone is interested in taking ownership of finding ways to reach un-churched men in the area, let me know; or, pass on ideas that might help us in this area.
